The Times They Are A Changin': Working with Fears and Anxieties {Meditation}

What a time we are living! So many unknowns, fears and anxieties whirling around. It is a darn right stressful and intense time. I have been feeling it all. It is hard not to with so many unknowns about work and financial situations, the health of our loved ones and so on. Even if all is ok in your life, feeling the pain of the collective and seeing how so many people are scared and overwhelmed with it definitely has an impact. I have been really trying to sit with the fears arising. Sometimes our outer world is shining a light on our inner world. For me I have notice some unconscious fears coming to the surface. It has been very interesting and intense. It is ok for us to feel the fear, anxiety, sadness and anger. The questions is how will we respond to this. We can be reactive - hoard food, toilet paper and even fight with people or we can look for other ways to come back to the present and lean it to the fears and work with them.

And here is a meditation that can help in these times of uncertainty and chaos. It is one I regularly use. I find it helps me tap into a sense of calm and safety.

Stay connected with your friends and family, even if it is over the phone. It is important to know we are not alone and we are all in this together. I will be posting regularly this week about what I do to help with anxiety and overwhelm.
